The government has been urged by former president John Dramani Mahama to pay trainee nurses across the nation’s arrears as soon as possible.
He called attention to the continuous difficulties that the trainee nurses are facing as a result of unpaid arrears and encouraged the government to give the payment of these arrears first priority.
He said, “Come and pay the nurses you owe them almost 30 months of arrears,” when addressing a group of student nurses on Saturday.
“Some of them have left school without receiving their allowances and some of them are going to leave school again without receiving their allowances.”
Mahama assured them that “it is about jobs and NDC is committed to jobs and so we are going to create the situation where we can employ as many of you as possible.”
