The Rawlings family informs Asantehene about Nana Konadu’s demise
Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings’ family has formally informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of her death, which occurred during a visit to the Manhyia Palace on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Nana Konadu died on October 23, 2025, in the Ridge Hospital in Accra. On October 30, a one-week observance was held to honor her life and legacy, attended by family, friends, and officials alike.

During the visit, the Asantehene expressed deep grief over her loss and offered his sympathies to the Rawlings family. He informed them that he would fully help the organisation of her funeral ceremonies.
The late former First Lady was also commended by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for her exceptional contribution to Ghana and her lifetime dedication to women’s empowerment via the 31st December Women’s Movement.
The late former president Jerry John Rawlings’ wife, Nana Konadu, is regarded as a staunch supporter of social and national advancement and a pioneer for women’s rights.
