Legendary dancehall performer Vybz Kartel has revealed that he would hold his first music event in December 2024.
After 13 years of incarceration, the artist’s comeback and important professional milestone would occur at the event.
In a podcast that Marigyata posted on Instagram, Vybz Kartel stated that he is making plans to grant his many fans’ want to see him perform again. He claimed to have heard their cries.
He claims that in the next several days, specific information regarding the event would be released to the public.
On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, the performer left the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in downtown Kingston after the Court of Appeal decided not to retrial him and his co-accused for Clive “Lizard” Williams’ murder.
Kartel, whose true name is Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Shawn Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John were found guilty in 2014 of killing Williams in September 2011.
In 2020, the quartet’s attorneys filed an appeal with the local Court of Appeal, but the convictions were affirmed.
The Privy Council in the United Kingdom then heard the accused’s appeal, and on March 14, 2024, the murder convictions were reversed due to juror misconduct.
In order for the Jamaica Court of Appeal to determine whether a retrial is necessary, the Privy Council also returned the matter to them.
