WhyI Chose Music Over Football – Kofi Kinaata explains
Highlife icon Kofi Kinaata from Ghana recently shared an unexpected explanation for his decision to choose music over football. It turns out that the young football player’s ability to pay for footwear was a significant challenge.
Kofi Kinaata stated on Citi TV’s “The Chat” that purchasing boots was the primary issue, but that purchasing a microphone is not necessary in order to perform music. Simply sing, then transfer the melody to the owner.”
His career path was greatly influenced by this accessibility gap between the more straightforward beginnings of music and the more expensive equipment required for sports.
He hasn’t published a whole album despite having a ten-year successful music career and winning three times as “Songwriter of the Year” at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
However, that will soon alter! In the upcoming days, he will finally release his project, the “Kofi OO Kofi” EP.
According to Kinaata: “I’m here because of the fans and the fans are the ones pestering me to release an EP or album.
I chose to share it for them to broadcast since we’ve become a team and they’re pressuring me to do so.”
The April 15th release date for the EP has been rescheduled to either May 3rd or May 10th. Meanwhile, fans are enjoying his new song, “Efiekuma Broken Heart”!
