The government has made Wednesday, May 1, 2024, a legally recognized public holiday.
Henry Quartey, the interior minister, encouraged everyone in the nation to observe the day in a statement.
“The general public is hereby informed that Monday, 1st May 2024 which marks May Day (Workers Day) is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” the release said.
