I Will Protect The Public Purse – Bawumia assure Ghanaians

In the event that he is elected president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reaffirmed his pledge to safeguard public funds.

In order to save government spending, he further insisted that his administration would be minimal in size.

“I have made it clear and even stated that I want to bring down government expenditure and the size of government by at least 3 percent of GDP, which is about GH¢30 billion over the next four years and I have also made it clear that I will have no more than 50 ministers, which is also to say I want to bring the size of government down.” Dr Bawumia told the clergy in the Northern Region during his Bold Soltutio campaign ahead of December polls.

He committed to safeguarding public funds and allocating them effectively to carry out significant and socially useful projects.
