The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association is not backing down from its strike action.
The group believes that the government is not committed to executing their condition of service, despite requests from the Labour Minister and the Health Ministry to end the strike and attend the table.
As they look for better terms of service, the association’s members will follow the roadmap it has established.
Nurses and midwives will demonstrate by donning red headbands and armbands from June 2–3, 2025.
Services provided by the outpatient department (OPD) will be discontinued from June 4–8, 2025.
All nursing and midwifery services will be completely discontinued countrywide on June 9, 2025.
Over 128,000 nurses and midwives are anticipated to join the strike action throughout Ghana.
