Woman pours water on Peter Amewu’s men during door-to-door campaign
When the campaign team of Member of Parliament (MP), John Peter Amewu encountered opposition while going door-to-door in the Hohoe Constituency, allegedly tensions erupted.
There were claims that those who were allegedly part of the campaign were turned away and even had water thrown at them by irate locals.
A user going by the handle @nanayaaprempeh posted a video showing three guys who appear to be from John Peter Amewu’s campaign crew interacting with a woman at what looks to be her doorway.
Abruptly, the scene changed dramatically as the woman threw a pan of water at the men to show her disapproval.
Delegates from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Hohoe constituency overwhelmingly acclaimed MP John Peter Amewu as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the next elections in December on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
In the 2020 election, Hon. John-Peter Amewu achieved a historic first by becoming the first candidate from the NPP to win a parliamentary election in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) stronghold since 1992.
This election is his second attempt to hold onto the seat in what is regarded as a crucial race.
