Video of Premier League Referee, David Coote ‘Filmed Snorting White Powder During Euro 2024 Surfaces

When Premier League referee David Coote was officiating at the Euros last summer, a video has surfaced showing him allegedly sniffing white powder in a hotel room.

The official is seen purportedly inhaling the powder using a rolled-up banknote in the eight-second video, which was leaked on Wednesday night.

Referees’ body PGMOL has suspended Coote and opened an inquiry after a separate video surfaced showing him calling Liverpool a “s***” and manager Jurgen Klopp a “German c***.”

Additionally, UEFA suspended him from officiating European matches.

According to reports, the most recent footage was taken on July 6, the day of Portugal vs. France’s quarterfinal match in Euro 2024, where Michael Oliver served as referee and Coote as a support VAR official.

Additionally, a hotel room sponsored by UEFA is said to have been used for filming.

UEFA said on Wednesday night in relation to Coote’s previous conduct: ‘The UEFA Referees Committee immediately suspended David Coote until further notice on November 11 when it became aware of his inappropriate behaviour.’

A PGMOL spokesperson said: ‘We are aware of the allegations and are taking them very seriously. David Coote remains suspended pending a full investigation.

‘David’s welfare continues to be of utmost importance to us and we are committed to providing him with the ongoing necessary support he needs through this period.

‘We are not in a position to comment further at this stage.’
