Two suspected military officers arrested after failed mining site robbery in Prestea

Prestea Police in the Western Region apprehended two suspected military men and two civilian collaborators on Sunday, September 28, during an alleged attempt to plunder LongShine Mining Company Limited, a Chinese mine, in Prestea-Obouhu.

In an interview with Channel One News’ Akwasi Agyei Annim on October 1, LongShine mining’s Public Relations Officer, Zion Rootman, confirmed the incident, stating that two suspected military people wearing military uniforms and two masked citizens attacked their site in a pickup truck.

However, he stated that they swiftly contacted the Prestea Police, who rushed to arrest them and then handed them over to the Tarkwa Regional Police Command.
