The Electoral Commission (EC) has promised that all ballots and biometric verification devices will be sent to every area of the nation by the end of the weekend.
The EC claims that ballots have been distributed to 13 areas, with Northern, Bono, and Bono East still pending.
Jean Mensa, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, emphasized the EC’s preparedness for the elections during a meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce.
“As we speak, all our registers have been prepared, and they have been disseminated across the country. We are also near completion with our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary polls.
“All the ballots, except the Northern, Bono, and Bono East regions, have been disseminated to our police armouries across the country. I am well aware that the ballot papers for these regions will be disseminated to the police armouries this afternoon.”
The head of the National Election Security Taskforce, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, also promised the commitment of the security agencies to ensure a peaceful election
“In our readiness, we want to say that we will protect every Ghanaian and every stakeholder in this election to ensure that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians to ensure peace.”
