Following the passing of former First Lady H.E. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, President John Dramani Mahama has proclaimed three days of national mourning.
The government declared that “all national flags shall fly at half-mast at all public buildings, diplomatic missions, and government installations throughout the country and abroad” from Friday, October 24 to Sunday, October 26, 2025, in a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson.
“This is in honour of her memory and in recognition of her distinguished service to our nation,” the statement read.

It further highlighted that Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings “served Ghana with dedication and commitment, particularly in women’s empowerment, child welfare, and social development.”
The government expressed its condolences to her family and loved ones, saying, “The Government extends its deepest condolences to the family, her children, and all who mourn this irreplaceable loss.”
“May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded.
