Police Ladies Association mourns former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings
The passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, which happened at Ridge Hospital on Thursday, October 2024, is being mourned by the Police Ladies Association (POLAS).
Speaking to the media about the unexpected death of the former First Lady, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs.), the Association’s national president, sent her sincere condolences to the family and the government at large. “I would like to offer my condolences to the government and family of the deceased on behalf of POLAS.” collectively. She said, “We lost a mother whose contributions to the development of our country are undeniable.”

The Ghana Police Service honored the late former First Lady for her services to women’s policing in Ghana.
Due to the reforms implemented by Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings during her tenure as First Lady of Ghana, women who had previously held the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) were elevated to Commissioner, exactly like their male colleagues.
As may be seen in other jurisdictions, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ instrumentality has resulted in female policewomen joining United Nations (UN) missions abroad.
In light of this, she was honored by the Police Ladies Association (POLAS) for her deserving contributions to the force during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of female police in Ghana.
