Members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) have declared that they will not take part in the organized labor strike.
Nonetheless, the Association reiterated its dedication to the battle against illicit mining.
The National Council of GRNMA released a communiqué on October 8, 2024, during an emergency meeting, instructing all nurses and midwives nationwide to stay in their positions and carry on delivering critical healthcare services.
The provision of high-quality healthcare to Ghanaians is the GRNMA’s first priority, which is why it has chosen to keep its members on duty.
The Association declared its support for other unions in their battle against galamsey, which has seriously harmed the ecology in several areas of the nation.
Along with General Secretary Dr. David Tenkorang-Twum, GRNMA President Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo stressed the Association’s support for more robust national interventions to address the threat posed by illegal mining.
