A new date for the last funeral rites of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Dada Kwaku Duah, also known as Dada K.D., has been announced by his family.
The state-assisted burial, which was originally planned for Saturday, August 16, 2025, will now take place at the State House’s Forecourt in Accra on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
The late musician’s birthplace of Agona Asamang in the Ashanti Region will host the burial and final Thanksgiving service on Sunday, September 7, according to the family.
In recognition of Dada K.D.’s enormous contributions to Ghanaian music over the previous three decades, the burial is anticipated to draw dignitaries, other singers, important industry figures, and fans.
The national mourning period that was imposed following the catastrophic military helicopter crash in the Adansi District, which killed eight lives, is thought to be the reason for the rescheduling.
After a brief illness, Dada K.D. passed suddenly on May 17, 2025, leaving behind a vast musical legacy.
