I’m not ready for my brother’s funeral—Lumba’s sister reacts court decision
Ernestina Fosuh, the sister of the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, better known by his stage name Daddy Lumba, has stated that she is not prepared to bury her brother on December 6th, even if the court rejects her request for an injunction on Daddy Lumba’s remains.
Abusuapayin, the leader of Daddy Lumba’s family, has declared complete control over the late singer’s burial plans after a court ruling rejected an injunction the musician’s widow had filed.
“The court has given us the go-ahead to organise the funeral. I will be going home to have a meeting with my family.
“We will do whatever we want to do. Nobody has any authority over the funeral apart from what the family head will say,” stated family head Victor Kofi Owusu Banahene after Tuesday’s court hearing.

The decision follows a lawsuit brought by Akosua Serwaa, Daddy Lumba’s wife, against Transitions Funeral Home, the singer’s second wife Odo Broni, and the family head.
Serwaa said in her writ that she was excluded from the planning process and only found out about the funeral date of December 6 via social media, and therefore requested an injunction against the funeral proceedings.
After hearings that started on October 16, the Kumasi High Court denied the injunction application on October 28, 2025.
According to Odo Broni and the family’s attorneys, their arguments won in court, allowing the burial to take place on December 6 as planned under the family head’s supervision.
Ernestina Fosuh, however, emphasized to the media following the hearing that doing the right thing must always be the goal.
She added that she is not at all prepared for her brother’s funeral.
“I will leave everything to God; all we want is for the right things to be done. For December 6, I am not ready, holding my brother’s funeral on December 6 for me I am not ready,” she told the media.
