Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has stated that he wants Thomas Partey to remain with the team.
After joining the team on a five-year contract from Atletico Madrid in 2020, the Ghanaian international’s contract with the team expires this summer.
Prior to the summer transfer window, Partey was connected to Saudi Pro League teams, Barcelona, and Juventus.
Thomas [Partey] has had his greatest season in terms of consistency, Arteta stated prior to Arsenal’s season-ending match.
“I think the way he’s played, performed, his availability has been exceptional, and he’s a really important player for us. Yeah (I want him to stay),” he added.
Following a season marred by injuries, Partey has played 51 games this season, the most he has ever played for Arsenal. He has four goals to his name.
When Arsenal visits Southampton at the St. Mary’s on Sunday, the 31-year-old will be hoping to maintain their strong play.
