On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the State House in Accra’s forecourt will host the state-assisted funeral of veteran Ghanaian highlife artist Dada KD.
On Sunday, August 17, a thanksgiving celebration will take place after a burial service in his hometown of Agona Asaaman in the Central Region.
The family held a one-week memorial service at the East Legon Executive Club to announce the funeral plans. A large number of dignitaries, performers, and supporters attended the event, including Nana Romeo, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, and Kojo Antwi.
In honor of the highlife icon, whose passing on May 17, 2025, following a brief illness, stunned many, mourners are expected to dress in black and white.
He died a few days before he was supposed to play with Kojo Blakk, Slim Buster, and Obrafour in London.
Fans and business leaders are anticipated to turn out in force for the burial, which will honor Dada KD’s enduring influence on Ghanaian music.
