The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has disclosed that military barracks will be built in all six newly constituted regions by the NDC if elected on December 7, 2024.
“All the six new regions will have military barracks so that the Ghana army will be present in all the regions,” he said.
According to him, the construction of the military barracks will assist combat armed robbery in the region while also creating a safe atmosphere for economic growth.
He also stated that the NDC plans to establish a military and police Anti-Armed Robbery Squad to combat the country’s crime rate.
“We want you to have peace and security to be able to go about with your duties, and we know that our 24-hour policy cannot work unless there’s security and safety for everybody,” he added.
During his ‘Building Ghana Tour’, he told the crowd at Gambaga Naa’s Palace that the NDC government plans to build a regional hospital, university, and sports stadium in each of the newly created regions.
