The 2024 school selection procedure for candidates taking the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been launched by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Beginning on Thursday, August 28, the procedure will go through September 4, 2024.
In order to guarantee a seamless placement process for their children, parents and guardians are urged to actively participate in the selection process, according to a statement signed by Mr. Prince Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instruction Division.
Through the procedure, 570,461 applicants who took the BECE this year had the option of selecting from a variety of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Senior High School options.
Candidates will also be able to choose from a variety of STEM fields, such as engineering, agriculture, and biomedical science.
The nationwide selection process will be supervised by representatives from the GES headquarters to guarantee openness and compliance with regulations. Regional Directors of Education have been directed to notify interested parties of the dates of the selection process.
In a recent addition, candidates will be able to SMS a brief code—details to be revealed later—to confirm their choice of school.
Parents, students, and other stakeholders can contact one of two phone lines to address any issues they may be having with the selection process.
