Telcos begin implementation of 10–15% data increases
A government decision to raise data package offerings by 10 to 15 percent, effective Tuesday, July 1, 2025, has been implemented by telecommunications firms throughout Ghana.
The action attempts to give subscribers more value and is a reaction to the public’s overwhelming complaints about the exorbitant cost of internet services. The initiative’s driving force, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, claims the change is a component of larger initiatives to increase digital affordability and accessibility.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has been instructed by Sector Minister Sam George to enforce stringent compliance, threatening to penalize noncompliant carriers.
In accordance with the government’s instruction, cellphone operators started informing clients of the revised pricing structures prior to implementation.
