Prof. Opoku-Agyemang ‘fires’ Akufo-Addo For Prioritising Statue
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the vice presidential candidate of the major opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), stated on Tuesday that there is no reason why President Akufo-Addo should have his statue built in Takoradi when many Ghanaians are struggling financially.
She said that under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, prices for products and services have skyrocketed, leaving Ghanaians living in extreme poverty. She also asserted that women are disproportionately affected by the current economic crisis.
She made this statement to begin her two-day campaign visit of the North East Region by making a courtesy call to Sulemana Saka Adams, the Regent of Wungu, in the Walewale constituency.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, who is in the North East Region to increase support for the John Mahama for President 2024 campaign, claimed that the high unemployment rate in the nation is a result of the NPP government’s inability to provide jobs for young people.
She promised that the upcoming NDC government would make every effort to alleviate Ghanaians’ financial struggles.
She stated that in order to create jobs, empower women, and advance the nation, the incoming NDC government will implement policies like as the National Apprenticeship Program, the Big Push, the Women’s Development Bank, and the 24-Hour Economy.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said that “the time to change is now” and asked Ghanaians to stop supporting the NPP government, which continues to cause suffering.
She called on citizens to support John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s presidential candidate, in the general elections scheduled for December 7.
Voting for John Mahama and the NDC, according to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, would aid in resetting the nation for the good of all Ghanaians.
