The public has been strongly warned by the Ghana Police Service to ignore a phony recruitment notification that is presently making the rounds on social media.
The Police Administration explained in a statement dated June 23, 2025, that there isn’t an official recruitment drive going on and called the spreading texts deceptive and untrue.
“The Service has not announced any new recruitment exercise,” the statement read, adding that all official recruitment processes will be publicly advertised through legitimate channels such as the Police Service’s official website, verified social media pages, and national newspapers.
The public was warned by the police not to fall for people or organizations that offer recruitment spots in return for cash. The Service stressed, “These are false claims, and people who interact with such con artists do so at their own risk.”
The police also gave the public the assurance that they are looking into the situation and that anyone caught participating in the fraudulent recruitment scheme would be arrested and prosecuted.
The public is encouraged to report any information they may have about such fraudulent activity to the closest police station.
Director of Public Affairs and Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi signed the statement.
