To guarantee rigorous implementation of the 15% transportation ticket decrease, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced intentions to station police personnel on important thoroughfares.
Following a meeting between the Assembly and the Ghana Police Service’s Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in Kumasi, the decision was made.
The Public Affairs Unit released a statement expressing worry over certain commercial transport operators’ noncompliance with the fare reduction, which went into effect on Saturday, May 24.
Drivers were warned by the Assembly that not implementing the authorized reduction is a crime that carries legal penalties.
“We kindly request the public’s cooperation in this endeavour as we strive to restore order and sanity on our roads,” the statement added.
Therefore, the Assembly has called for complete compliance to guarantee the directive’s seamless implementation and to aid in reestablishing justice and order in the transportation industry.
