Kade chief steps down after 21 years of reign
Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II, the chief of Kade in the Eastern Region, also known in private as William Kwame Apaw, has declared his abdication after 21 years on the throne.
In a statement dated October 22, 2025, Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II stated that his choice was motivated by a wish to reestablish peace, unity, and growth in both Kade and Okyeman.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Aduana family for putting their trust in him during his two decades in office.

During his reign, he oversaw a number of development efforts, including infrastructure projects and social programs aimed at improving the lives of his subjects.
However, his term was apparently marred by turmoil, including legal battles and a long-running legitimacy case with the National House of Chiefs.
