Forget 24hr economy policy; I’m for a 24hr shift system for workers – Cheddar

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, former president John Dramani Mahama, has suggested a 24-hour economy strategy, to which presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, also known as Freedom Jacob Caesar, has stated that he does not agree.

He states that a 24-hour workday regime for employees is what he would want.

“I don’t agree to 24-hour economy, I agree to 24 hour shifts if we have the power, the 24-hour shift work will happen best for industrialisation,” he said in an exclusive interview on TV3 on Monday, March 24.

Nana Kwame Bediako went on to say that if he wins this year’s presidential election, he plans to start an industrial revolution.

According to him, the industrial revolution will open up work chances for the nation’s burgeoning youth.

He disclosed that more than sixty percent of young people do not have a job. It was on his recent national tour that he arrived at this conclusion.

“Over 60 percent of the people are unemployed, we want to embark on an industrial revolution that we want to put in the region

“This is 16 industrial revolution, and whatever resources of the country should be shared equitably,” he said.

The businessman recently assured the Paramount Chief of Goaso Traditional Area in the Ahafo region, Nana Akwasi Bosompra I, of more factories in the area if he becomes president of Ghana.

Mr Bediako said this when he paid a courtesy call on him as part of his tour of the Ahafo Region of Ghana.

Nana Akwasi Bosompra I expressed confidence in him although he admitted that the task ahead of Mr Bediako in the general elections is a daunting one.

During the interaction, Nana Kwame Bediako said “There were several factories established in Ghana and in Goaso after our independence but these factories aren’t working anymore. I am pleading with you to vote for me to correct things in our society to benefit our children and unborn ones.”

In response to him, the Paramount chief said “Ghana belongs to all of us, continue with your zeal and determination, it will be a tough fight but I know you can deliver.”

Nana Kwame Bediako popularly known as Freedom Jacob Caesar, earlier described himself as a visionary leader.

Mr Bediako, also leader of the New Force Movement says he intends to share his experience in helping develop the country.

He also described himself as an industrialist, ready to grow the economy of the country if elected as president in this year’s elections.

“I am a developer, I am an industrialist, I a visionary, i am a humanitarian philanthropist, I am an entrepreneur, go and bring someone who has all these credentials and credibility, I have all these, and I want to share because the value of the knowledge is to be shared,” he told journalists in Kumasi.

He had also indicated that “I’m that man with a good purpose, with a great vision. I have a plan, and I have a vision for this nation. And not only for this nation, I have it for Africa too.

“But I know Africa is the next biggest thing because out of all the continents that have been developed in this world, there is only one continent that is not developed and I am sent to do that.”
