Dumsor: ‘Give Us Timetable’ – Nana Akomea To ECG
In order to help Ghanaians navigate the present power crisis, Nana Akomea, the Chief Executive Officer of the InterCity State Transport Corporation (STC), has made a request to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for a power timetable.
In order to facilitate the planning of daily activities by power consumers, the ECG has declined to offer a schedule.
The energy provider claims that the current state of affairs cannot be compared to the “localized fault”—a word used to describe the problem—that characterized the former Mahama administration’s “dumsor” electricity crisis.
As a result, the authority has disregarded requests for a schedule for load shedding, and the sector minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has supported the ECG.
In an appearance on Peace FM’s morning program “Kokrokoo,” Nana Akomea questioned why the ECG and other energy sector players weren’t providing Ghanaians with a timeline and urged them to take appropriate action.
“This doesn’t help the government in anyway . . . this is not right. It is not a good record,” he lamented.
He insisted for a schedule stressing “in the meantime, give us a timetable”.
