2024 Elections: Stephen Appiah to contest Ayawaso West Wuogon seat – REPORTS
According to reports, Stephen Appiah, the former captain of the Black Stars, is getting ready to run for the Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW) seat in the 2024 elections.
According to a social media post by Fiifi Tackie, the Ayew family’s spokesperson, the former Juventus player would run as an independent.
Should it be verified, Stephen Appiah will be vying for seats in the upcoming parliament alongside Frederick Acheampong, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council.
In the parliamentary primary for the Ahafo Ano South East seat, Frederick Acheampong became victorious for the New Patriotic Party.
In 2024, he received 164 votes to run for the NPP’s general seat.
For the AWW seat, Stephen Appiah will face John Dumelo of the NDC and Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the NPP.
“Stephen Appiah to contest Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency as an independent Parliamentary candidate,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, April 26, 2024.
