Gabby Otchere-Darko, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advocated for unity within the party.
He believes that since the party will need everyone on board to regain power in 2028, the internal competition must be one of ideas rather than personal attacks.
“Keep it clean. Whoever wins this battle will need the whole family to win the war. Fix to recapture. Don’t destroy to rebuild,” he said in a post shared via social media.”
His remark follows discussions between followers of the different candidates who have chosen to run for the party’s flagbearership.
As of right now, two individuals have publicly stated their desire to run for the position of flagbearer of the political party.
Kennedy Agyapong and Bryan Acheampong want to be elected to lead the political party back to power.
In recent years, Kennedy Agyapong has pushed the party to examine its past and fire Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who guided the party to its worst loss in the 2024 elections, leaving it with just 88 members in Parliament.
