The KAMA Group of Companies’ founder, Michael Agyekum Addo, died at the age of 74.
According to the news, he passed away on Friday, November 1.
In addition to being one of the 88 PhD students that graduated from the University of Ghana in 2022, he received an honorary doctorate degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2005.
Addo is a successful businessman who has established a significant presence in Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector.
In addition to being the Nkabomhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Addo is well-known for founding the KAMA Group of Companies, which ran a number of companies, including a pharmaceutical production company that has since been sold.
In Kumasi, he began his career in 1983 running a drugstore. In 1986, he began producing medical supplies in his garage, giving rise to the KAMA Group of Companies, a conglomerate with numerous wholesale and retail locations throughout Ghana.
In addition, he oversees a multipurpose convention facility, a real estate company, and a microfinance institution.
In order to instill a can-do spirit in the younger generation, Addo has written multiple books and founded the Kama Education Project, which trains teachers to turn pupils into entrepreneurs from an early age.
