After the death of Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the Asantehemaa, the Asante Kingdom has fallen into sadness.
During an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, the Oyoko Family acknowledged the death of the second most powerful person in Asanteman to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The 14th Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, was born Nana Ama Konadu. She was the biological sister of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the present Asantehene.
After her mother, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, the Asantehemaa at the time, passed away five years ago, she became the Asantehemaa.
As she led Asanteman in support of her brother Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s rule, Nana Konadu Yiadom is revered for her strength, loyalty, and advice, as well as her adherence to tradition. She has been instrumental in the preservation of Asante culture.
In the Asanteman community at large as well as inside the royal family, her presence at the Manhyia Palace served as a symbol of stability and solidarity.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III suddenly away at daybreak on August 7, 2025, according to family sources, although there are few other specifics available.
