#OccupyBoG protest kicks off at Obra Spot
Numerous demonstrators have gathered at Accra’s Obra Spot for the #OccupyBoG protest, which was organized by the NDC minority group in Parliament, the advocacy organization Arise Ghana, and other groups to call for the resignation of the governor of the Bank of Ghana and his appointees.
The central bank’s governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, is accused by the demonstrators of mismanaging it and driving it into insolvency.
They further charge him with having approved careless spending, including the $250 million building of the new Bank of Ghana headquarters.

From Obra Spot, the demonstrators are anticipated to march via Adabraka, Ridge Roundabout, the National Theatre Traffic Light, the High Court Complex Traffic Light, and Atta Mills High Street.
At the National Lottery traffic signal, they will then turn around and conclude the demonstration in Independence Square.
Parliamentarians from Madina, North Tongu, and Lawra, including MPs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Bede Ziedeng, have already arrived for the demonstration.
