Gabby reacts to Akufo-Addo’s ministerial reshuffle at the Finance Ministry

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a major member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), reacted to President Akufo-Addo’s recent ministerial reshuffle on Wednesday, February 14.

Gabby took to social media to directly address the appointment of a new Finance Minister.

Mohammed Amin Adam has been appointed as Ken Ofori-Atta’s successor.

Mr. Ofori-Atta’s term had been fraught with hurdles, including requests for his resignation owing to alleged economic issues.

Gabby congratulated Amin Adam on X, describing him as well-prepared, competent, humble, and politically sensitive.

He voiced confidence in Adam’s capacity to efficiently handle the country’s finances, citing the overwhelming public support for the nomination.

Ken Ofori-Atta, the Finance Minister for a record seven years, has been moved to the position of Presidential Advisor.

Amin Adam, who formerly served as Minister of State in the Finance Ministry, will now manage the government’s negotiations with creditors as part of Ghana’s ongoing participation in the $3 billion International Monetary Fund (IMF) program.
