Bawumia promises to break NDC’s world bank

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president and potential presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made brash assertions about his capacity to win over voters in NDC strongholds in the impending 2024 general election.

Dr. Bawumia promised NPP supporters a “breakthrough” in the NDC’s traditional support grounds during his visit to the Oti Region.

He exuded confidence in his ability to outperform the other NPP candidates, noting his winning mentality as his greatest asset.

Dr. Bawumia thanked party members for their outstanding support during the Super Delegates Conference in a speech to the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region and challenged them to show the same fervor and dedication during the November 4 election.

Bawumia promises to break NDC’s world bank

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the lack of confidence Zongo community members had in the NPP’s ability to choose him as their flagbearer.

He said with confidence that the NDC would suffer large losses in their historical strongholds, notably in the North and Zongo areas, should he be chosen as the flagbearer.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia pledged to make big gains in the Volta Region, a traditional bastion of the NDC.

The Party’s resistance to his serving as the flagbearer is said to be motivated by his desire to undermine the NDC’s dominance in these areas.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia asserted that he was the best candidate to compete with the NDC in the 2024 Elections based on his expertise from prior elections.

In comparing the approaching election to a World Final game, he emphasized the need of having an experienced striker on the field in order to score goals and positioned himself as the NPP’s top candidate.

Later on in the day, the Vice President expressed his condolences for his sister-in-law’s passing alongside Nana Kofi Mensah Dematiah, Ghana’s ambassador to Togo.

Dr. Bawumia visited Kete Krachi in the Oti Region on Saturday, September 9, 2023, the same day as the burial.

The political environment of Ghana is expected to experience fierce rivalry as the general election of 2024 approaches, along with anxious expectation for the results.
