Adutwum expresses willingness to be Bawumia’s running mate
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, has openly expressed his willingness to serve as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate in the 2024 elections.
On the Citi Breakfast Show on Tuesday, January 9, the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe stated his willingness to serve Ghana whenever called upon.
“I am here to serve my nation, in any capacity I find myself I will serve this nation,” Dr Adutwum said.
In the battle for Dr. Bawumia’s running mate in the 2019 general elections, noteworthy names have emerged, including Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh and Suame MP Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
In a change from the NPP’s typical practice, Dr. Bawumia was given extra time to choose his running mate in December of last year.
With the right to make exceptions to party regulations, the party’s National Council voted to waive the requirement that the vice presidential candidate be chosen one year before elections.
This choice gives Dr. Bawumia more time to properly study his options and choose the best candidate for his running companion.
