Yvonne Nelson blasts Akufo-Addo over economic hardship
In a recent video, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson ‘fired’ President Nana Akuffo-Addo for what she called the present administration’s hollow promises and nepotism.
Yvonne Nelson created a video on her Twitter account picturing a sinking island (Ghana) being pulled down by anchors made of foreign currency (debts), as inhabitants of the islands leave on ships and boats. Nelson used the platform to voice her complaints.
A helicopter with the letters “IMF” painted on it is seen delivering supplies to the leaders on top of the island in the film as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s ghost weeps and a supreme entity glares indignantly.
She captioned the video, “All the campaign empty promises Mixed with the BIG BIG English assorted with the FAMILY & FRIENDS equals a FAILURE. @NAkufoAddo”

Yvonne Nelson’s opinions reflect her displeasure with the present administration’s actions and policies, especially in light of what she perceives to be broken campaign pledges and worries about nepotism in the executive branch.
These add to the numerous requests for improved economic and governmental management that are being made by concerned individuals both online and offline.
A recent three-day #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration was organized by the Ghanaian pressure organization Democracy Hub to express their unhappiness with the government’s disregard for some of the most pressing concerns facing the nation’s population.
