Wearing of Smocks banned in Bawku

The Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has banned the use of smock in the Bawku Municipality.

This comes after there were sporadic gunshots in the Municipality on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.

The ban on smocks according to a statement from the REGSEC is to prevent criminals from hiding guns and attacking their opponents or innocent civilians.

 

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has imposed a curfew on the Municipality and its environs.

The curfew which starts on Wednesday, November 24 is on the advice of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC).
