Two arrested in connection of 300-year-old Komfo Anokye cola tree
The police have detained two people who they think are related to the famous 300-year-old cola tree that head priest Komfo Anokye planted.
This was disclosed by Joseph Assuming, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Feyiase, in a Chronicle story dated November 10, 2023.
The story states that the arrest happened on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, in response to GhanaWeb’s previous report on November 7.

The identities and reasons for the arrests of the people were not mentioned in detail in the Chronicle story.
That did, however, suggest that their participation in the historic tree-cutting episode resulted in their capture by the police.
In addition to the two being taken into custody, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is said to have called the Feyiase chief after the historic tree was cut down.
The 300-year-old cola tree has served as a community emblem for generations and is said to have historical and cultural value because of its connection to Komfo Anokye.
