Ghana Air Force helicopter crash-lands in Bonsokrom; 14 rescued
In the Western Region’s Bonsokrom, in the Ahanta West Municipality, a Ghana Air Force helicopter has crashed-landed.
According to eyewitnesses who talked with Citi News, the helicopter site—which is currently guarded by Air Force personnel—carried 14 people, including employees of the petroleum industry regulators.
The Bonsokrom village was alerted when the aircraft made a hard landing in a thicket close by.
Reports state that all passengers and staff on board the aircraft are safe and have been rescued by Air Force troops, despite the scary nature of the incident.
The origin and destination of the flight are still unknown.
It’s unknown at this point of time if the helicopter was heading from Accra to Takoradi or from offshore places to Takoradi.
