Thomas Tuchel signs two-year extension at Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel has extended his contract at Chelsea, the club have confirmed via their official website.

Tuchel arrived at Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain back in January, following his sacking at Les Parisiens. He had a big job on his hands to get the fans on his side, replacing the Blues’ all time top goalscorer Frank Lampard.

The German wasted no time in making an impact, going unbeaten in his first 14 games in charge. Having taken over with the club in ninth place, he managed to finish inside the top four, overtaking Leicester City late on in the season.

But the highlight of his time at Stamford Bridge has undoubtedly been the Champions Leaguecampaign. The former Borussia Dortmund boss oversaw victories against Atletico Madrid, Porto, and Real Madrid, before beating English champions Manchester City in the final to lift the trophy.

As a reward for his efforts, Tuchel has been awarded a two-year extension to his current contract, keeping him at the club until at least 2024.
