Cecilia Dapaah’s five bank accounts cleared by OSP

Five bank accounts belonging to Cecilia Abena Dapaah, a former minister for sanitation and water resources, have been cleared of any questionable transactions, according to a statement from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

This development follows a thorough investigation into allegations of corruption and crimes linked to corruption involving substantial quantities of money and other valuable objects that allegedly involved Ms. Dapaah.

In order to assist a comprehensive investigation into the situation, the OSP, which launched the investigation in July 2023, took a number of actions, including putting a freezing order on Ms. Dapaah’s bank accounts and other financial assets.

According to a statement issued by the OSP today, Monday, October 16, 2023, it has been found after rigorous inspection that these particular bank accounts are not connected to any unlawful activity or contaminated monies.

With immediate effect, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has reversed the freezing order on Ms. Dapaah’s five bank accounts in light of these revelations.

It’s crucial to remember that the former minister’s remaining bank accounts and financial assets are still subject to the freezing order, which is still in full force and effect.

This discovery sheds some light on the ongoing inquiry into the claims of corruption against Ms. Dapaah, who was previously the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources before being fired.

The OSP and its investigative team are dedicated to maintaining accountability, preserving openness, and bringing corrupt individuals to justice even as the investigation goes on.
