NPP’s presidential primaries will be held on November 4 in all constituencies

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee has announced that the party’s constituencies around the nation will host the November 4th Presidential Primaries.

According to the Committee’s chairman, Professor Michael Oquaye, there will be a voting location in each constituency.

On November 4, more than 200,000 NPP delegates will vote to choose a presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

There will be free and fair elections, according to Professor Michael Oquaye.

“The Electoral Commission will also be fully in charge of the process, in fact, it’s going to be like any other national election. Every constituency, there will be a centre in it and for that matter, the EC will go about the process of conducting the elections. What this means in effect is that no authority, no person, whether by way of a party person will be part of the process of conducting the elections,” Professor Michael Oquaye said.

The criteria for the November 4 primaries, which will take place at all 276 constituencies around the nation and the Party Headquarters, Asylum Down, Accra, were announced by the party’s Presidential Elections Committee on September 22.

The committee stated in a statement released in Accra said the guidelines described the processes and regulations for the primary elections that would choose a presidential candidate for the general election in 2024.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president, Kennedy Agyapong, a former member of parliament for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh, and Dr. Owusu Akoto Afriyie are the four candidates contending for the presidency.
