The real salary of GRA boss – Sam George

The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, is the second-highest paid public officer, according to Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament, Sam George.

In an interview with Dwaso Nsem, the morning show on Adom FM, he asserted that Dr. Owusu-Amoah is paid more than 140,000 Ghana cedis.

The Ningo Prampram politician said that the GRA chief has not had a contract with the government since October 2020, calling the executive a “living ghost.” The GRA boss has reached retirement age.

The real salary of GRA boss – Sam George

“Dr. Ammishaddai is a ghost on the public payroll because he doesn’t have any contract. Can you believe he is the second highest-paid public servant? He is paid every month without a contract. He is simply a living ghost on the payroll” he said.

Sam George asked the GRA Commissioner-General’s age during this week’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting.

Mr. George questioned the GRA Commissioner-General’s decision to stay in office beyond reaching retirement age and accused him of entering into “dubious and unscrupulous” contracts.
