Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu resigns as Majority Leader
Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the majority leader, has willingly resigned from his position effective immediately.
This choice was made during a pivotal meeting of the majority caucus with President Nana Akufo-Addo on Wednesday night at the Jubilee House.
The gathering was held in response to widespread rumors that the majority leadership in parliament will soon undergo a change.
According to the reports, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the deputy of the Suame Member of Parliament (MP), and Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the MP for Efuttu, are expected to succeed him.
The choice made by Kyei Mensah-Bonsu is significant for the parliament.
It makes it possible for the party and caucus to formally implement the proposed changes to the leadership.
This measure is perceived as an attempt to bring peace and direction back to the NPP’s parliamentary faction.
