Ex-bhim nation signee, Kelvyn Boy has caused some minor confusion on the internet after he claimed his own boss, Stonebwoy and SM boss, Shatta Wale are not real Dancehall artistes.

Speaking on Adom FM‘s Work & Happiness show, Kelvyn said the genre the two artists specialize in is Afro-Dancehall and not the ‘real’ Dancehall. He says it’s for this reason why Beyonce chose Shatta Wale for the ‘Already’ collaboration and the song they produced is Afrobeats.

“Beyoncé came to Africa and she did Afrobeat with Shatta Wale. I feel like Afrobeat is what we have to accept as ours. We are not recognised outside with those genres otherwise Beyoncé would’ve gone to Jamaica for a Dancehall act.”

Kelvyn Boy is an award-winning musician signed to Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group (BMG). The name ‘Kelvyn Boy’ originated from him repeatedly being referred to as ‘That Kelvin Boy’.
