Akufo-Addo to reshuffle appointees soon – Report

There are rumors that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president, is about to announce another reorganization of his cabinet.

The Dispatch publication claims to have obtained reliable information indicating that the president would shortly begin the exercise in reshuffle.

Ken Ofori-Atta, the minister of finance, will remain unaffected by the process, which the publication described as the last significant reorganization by President Nana Akufo-Addo before the presidential and legislative elections of 2024.

This is in addition to the several attempts—including one made by nearly 80 lawmakers from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) side of the chamber—to persuade the president to remove the minister over his management of the economy, among other matters.

The article claims that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, will be a key casualty of the next reorganization process.

According to the article, John Kumah, a deputy minister of finance, is also expected to be promoted to the position of substantive minister of a ministry.

Akufo-Addo will soon change ministers, according to a report from the Daily Statesman, a private publication with strong ties to the current administration and Jubilee House.
