Prez Akufo Addo and some members of Parliament caught in a video sleeping – Watch Video
Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken Ghana to the ‘international market’ when he was captured on camera sleeping at a public event outside his country.
The President who is currently at an international function to discuss business and partnership opportunities between Russia and Africa couldn’t hold his eyes whiles the speech was ongoing and was captured sleeping.
Social media has gone ‘gaga’ over the video as Akufo-Addo this is not the first time he’s been captured sleeping in public.
In another viral photo, Nana Addo was also seen standing alongside with some Heads of state at the Russia-Africa Summit and his posture clearly depicting sleeping man.
Food and Agriculture Minister
Ministers and MPs caught on camera sleeping through the 2020 budget presentation have sparked criticism that they are old and weak for their respective portfolios.
Food and Agriculture Minister, and Member of Parliament for the Kwadaso Constituency Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has been caught napping in Parliament when the national budget for 2020 is been read.
Owusu Afriyie, 70, is one of the cabinet ministers who seem to have improvised a way to escape the scrutiny of nosy media cameras that have on several occasions caught aged government officials dozing at important events.
No sooner had Parliament business of the day started than the minister fell into a deep slumber.
Eyewitness say the farms minister switched sleep mode barely ten minutes into the presentation.
The Dormaa Central Lawmaker and Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu. was also caught busily sleeping in Parliament when Finance Minister was on the floor presenting the 2020 financial statement.
Agyemang-Manu, 64 has served as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in the immediate-past Parliament and was the acting CEO of the National Health Authority in 2006, and also the deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning under former President Kufour’s administration (2001 to 2008).
Social media activists have not taken it gently with the two top government officials who have decided to take a kip on national television at a state gathering.
Not long ago, a video of President Akufo-Addo in a sleeping attitude during the maiden Russia-Africa Summit held in Sochi, Russia went viral.
In that video, Nana Addo was seen restfully sitting amongst other dignitaries with his eyes seemingly closed and snoring off his woes.
Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Minority side on Thursday, February 20, 2020, boycotted the 2020 State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The minority staged the walkout moments after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had taken his seat in the house.
Clad in black, they all chanted the National Anthem as they staged the walked out.
The boycott is in line with their earlier threat to boycott the SONA if government failed to release five percent of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF).
Moments after the delivery by President Akufo-Addo, the Minority in Parliament of Ghana addressed the media.
They accused government of deliberating scheming to deprive them of the needed funds in order for them to compete effectively and fairly with their opponents.
But one thing that caught the attention of social media during the presser by the minority was when the minority leader at a point was caught sleeping.
Honourable Haruna Iddrisu who had earlier addressed the media and had handed over to his colleague Asawasi MP, Honourable Muntaka Mabarak was captured taking a nap.
