Kennedy Agyapong promises to get more votes from the Muslim community than Bawumia

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims he would receive more support from Muslims than Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also a Muslim.

Dr. Bawumia, in his opinion, has not contributed even a fifth of what Ken Agyapong has in the Muslim community.

He asserted that the Vice President had to quit engaging in flagbearer politics and playing the religious and ethnic card.

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, Ken Agyapong indicated in a speech to party members who had joined him on his Showdown Walk in Kumasi that he would not favor religious or tribal politics but that, if necessary, he would drop a bombshell on those who were using those strategies.

“I will not play tribal politics, but if it becomes necessary, I will give them bombshell,” he said amidst thunderous cheers from his supporters.

In addition, he said, “They should stop that tribal politics,” cautioning those advancing tribal and religious politics in the party’s presidential race.

One of the four candidates running for the party’s presidency in its next presidential convention on November 4 is Ken Agyapong. If elected, he will guide the party through the general elections of 2024.
