Mahama to lead Ashanti 24-hour economy walk on January 24

John Dramani Mahama, the former president, is anticipated to serve as the walk’s leader for the entire 24 hours on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

The District Level Elections caused the walk, which was initially scheduled for December 2023, to be postponed.

In a statement released by the National Democratic Congress leadership in the Ashanti Region and signed by its Secretary, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, it was said that everything was prepared for the walk, which was intended to raise awareness of the policy among the local population.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, members of the NDC National Executive, and regional executives led by Regional Chairman Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi would lead the walk, according to the party’s leadership.

The NDC leadership has announced that a procession will take place on the main thoroughfares of Kumasi. Afterward, participants will gather in Kumasi Jubilee Park, where speakers, including John Mahama, the NDC’s flagbearer, will speak.

“The planned route for the walk is as follows: Aboabo Post Office, through Pelele to On-the-ran to Manhyia Hospital, proceeding to Alabar Street, Kejetia Roundabout, Hello FM, A-life, Asafo Overpass, Labour Roundabout, and concluding at Jubilee Park,” the statement added.

In addition, the NDC flagbearer will carry out his Building the Ghana We Want Tour, visiting different communities and interacting with traders, labor unions, artists, and students.

The NDC claims that the community engagements will give H.E. John Dramani Mahama a priceless chance to express his vision, hear people’s worries, and get input straight from the source.

The party stated that it is looking forward to a very fruitful and participatory set of events that would strengthen the relationship between the NDC and the Ashanti Region’s citizens.
