I’ll blame Kuami Eugene, if I get disqualified by Guinness World Record – Afua Asantewaa
Ghanaian journalist turned businesswoman, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, has declared that she will hold Highlife musician Kuami Eugene accountable if she is disqualified from holding the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon.
She claims to have a crush on Kuami Eugene, and that this had an impact on her when the Highlife singer showed up at the event center during her sing-a-thon.
When Kuami Eugene was spotted at the sing-a-thon grounds, she said that she had forgotten the lyrics to “Asuoden,” a song by Sista Afia that included Kuami Eugene.
“Kuami Eugene is my crush. That guy came and I forgot my lyrics. I said to myself that he was going to disturb me with his presence. If Guinness people do not give me the record, it is Kwami Eugene. My husband knows I have a crush on him so when he got there, I said he shouldn’t have been there. I couldn’t remember his lyrics to ‘Asuoden’. I just like him”, she said in a video shared by SikaOfficial on X.
Afua Asantewaa Aduonum stated that she was going to smash the record for the longest singing marathon held by the Guinness World Record.
The event was supposed to start on December 24, 2023, and end on December 27, 2023.
The initial attempt was broken by Sunil Waghmare. She is the marathon winner who can sing the longest right now. She achieved this in 2012 when she sang for 105 hours.
Afua Asantewaa concluded her effort on Friday, December 29, 2023, having completed 105 hours and setting a new record of 126 hours, 52 minutes.
In a post on her Facebook page, she wrote: “THIS IS WHERE I END MY JOURNEY! 126 HOURS, 52MINS. WE BROKE A RECORD AND SET A NEW ONE. IT WAS YOUR LOVE, DEDICATION, MOTIVATION, AND PRAYERS THAT GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET ON MY FEET EVERYTIME AND KEEP GOING FOR THIS LONG. IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU! THANK YOU EVERYONE, THANK YOU GHANA!”
Afua Asantewaa, who is yet to receive acknowledgment from Guinness World Records for her singathon attempt, discloses that if she gets disqualified, it will be as a result of Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene, who happens to be her crush. pic.twitter.com/j5b4aOrKtm
